This is the Apple QuickTime beta, version 1.0b18. The 1991 QuickTime Beta CD-ROM contains the QuickTime extension, programming stuff, Mac OS 6.0.8+7.0 installer, sample movies (over 400MB of them!) and photos, and goodies.
The first download above is a StuffIt archive contains only a QuickTime 1.0b18+ extension, MoviePlayer, and PICTCompressor.

Compatibility:
Requires a color 68020 Macintosh computer, Mac OS 6.0.7-7.0.1, 4 MB or more of RAM. Doesn't work at all in emulators
